Australia’s dignitary representation at the Royal Wedding consisted of two Serious Ladies: Prime Minister Julia Gillard and Governor General Quentin Bryce.
Julia Gillard commented on her Royal Wedding outfit:
When asked what look she was going for, Ms Gillard told reporters: “Hopefully one appropriate for a royal wedding.”
“Glamorous but appropriate for daytime kind of look,” she added.
Also noted: both QB and JG made a point to wear Australian designers to the fete. JG was accompanied by her “first bloke” Tim Mathieson, whom she met when he was her hair stylist (!), while Bryce was escorted by her husband Michael, a design professor.
